Welcome to the The Bridge
(Bridge of Weir) SC10 42720
Community Centre and Post Office
The Bridge was initially established in June 2011 as an Association and became a registered charity in
in November 2011 (SC10 42720). The trustees include representatives of several local organisations who have a common interest in preserving and building a flourishing community in and around Bridge of Weir.

We had two complementary objectives:-
(a) Establish a community Centre
(b) Reopen a Post Office.
The Committee's aim was to occupy the Main Street building (previously the Library) and use it as a village focal point. We operate the premises under a lease granted by Renfrewshire Council. In November 2011 the Community Centre opened and later that month we were pleased to re-establish a Post Office. The Community Centre and Post Office provides a base for much needed services and acts as a community hub.

The community centre, which includes a Shop, is run solely by Volunteers. Without the support of our Volunteers and that of our customers The Bridge would not exist. Profits from the Community Centre activities allow us to finance the losses of operating the Post Office.

Income is generated from running successful Shop selling stationery goods, cards, second hand books and DVD's etc. The Centre accommodation comprises one large room and a private meeting room, both can be hired. Several users are charity organisations and no letting fee is charged We operate a cinema which meets twice monthly. We have a small but comfortable Café.

Keep Safe - The Bridge is a registered Keep Safe Premises, we display the Keep Safe/I am Me window sticker and provide a safe place for someone who may feel lost, scared or vulnerable www.iammescotland.co.uk
